Fragrant Tea World, Harmonious World: Tea Fairy at China-EU 50th Anniversary

On June 18–19, local time in Brussels, Bao Lili — Chinese Tea Culture Ambassador and “World Tea Fairy” — led her TeaFairy team to participate in the commemorative events at the China Cultural Center in Brussels. Under the theme “Fragrant Tea World, Harmonious World: An Elegant Gathering of Chinese Culture”, the exhibition and live performances celebrated three significant milestones: the 50th anniversary of China–EU diplomatic relations, the 10th anniversary of the Brussels China Cultural Center, and the 30th Shanghai International Tea Culture Tourism Festival.

This refined gathering, which blends intangible cultural heritage with the aesthetics of tea, marks the first in-depth European tour since “Traditional Chinese Tea Processing Techniques and Associated Practices” was inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in November 2022.

The opening day launched the global initiative “Beyond Borders, Connecting Hearts”, welcoming over 100 international athletes from the World Sports Games to engage with the richness of Chinese intangible heritage — including tea ceremony, incense culture, and traditional Chinese medicine. On June 19, the highlight event “Tea for Harmony:Yaji Cultural Salon” on the 30th Shanghai International Tea Culture Tourism Festival officially took place.

Tea — as a cultural bridge between China and the world — played a central role in the cross-cultural exchange. Under the theme “Fragrant Tea World: An Invitation through Tea”, Bao Lili and her TeaFairy team presented an immersive and elegant showcase of Chinese culture--blending traditional tea ceremony, incense art, floral arrangement, traditional attire, and a curated selection of intangible heritage teas — including Awakening Ancient Tree Pu’er, Longhe White Peony King, Defeng Tieguanyin, and the TEAFAIRY Signature Premium China Tea Collection —along with heritage teaware crafted in copper by master Zhu Bingren .

This thoughtfully curated presentation offered a rich and multi-sensory expression of Chinese tea’s deep connection to nature, craftsmanship, and cultural heritage, sharing the elegance of Oriental aesthetics and the vibrant spirit of Chinese tea with guests from around the world.

From Deidesheim, Germany to Brussels, Belgium, Tea Fairy Bao Lili’s “Fragrant Tea World” European Tour is subtly redefining the modern language of cultural exchange.
